Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith

Just been to see this film tonight with 14 year old son (only way to stop him nagging ).

Pretty good - tied up all the loose ends - in a way which still permitted a reasonably entertaining film. One to see if you have seen all the others - not so if you haven't although Hayden Christensen is very pleasing to the eyes girls - helped keep me awake

Coming home, my son commented that every time he heard Darth Vader's breathing he thought he sounded like a diver. To which my husband said 'given he's in black with a lightsaber, he's clearly DIR as well'.

Feel the force young Padowan

The reason Darth Vader sounds like a diver is that he is!

Or at least, his breathing is. The sound of his breathing was captured by placing a tiny microphone into a regulator (I think it is mentioned on the original trilogy extras DVD).

SWMBO has made the comments about Vader and the dark side.
Empire magazine last month had a cover freebie card that made Vaders sound when opened , opened it the first time and SWMBO turned round and said , 'why are you testing your regulators, oh your not.'
Dizzy bird she is.

Don't read if you havent seen the film!

Just seen the film aswell and i know i shouldn't pick holes in such a classic series of films but..........

Without giving to much away (because i'll get told off for that), surley the last fight aniken has before getting the suit, there is no way that one he wouldn't bleed to death and two he wouldn't burn to death. I mean he is without all limbs and on fire on a planet made of lava.
Secondly surley with all the powers of the Jedi they would have worked out who Darth Siddius was long before that, as they can all feel the force being strong in people. i could go on but have realised i am sounding too much like a nerd.
i liked the film but feel that the first three (4,5,6) were so much better than the new 3 films.

Sorry to all who read this but i'm a complete nerd and will be going to see the film soon, but too busy.

I'm not bothered by spoilers too much cos we kind of know whats going to happen anyway. But i have a question that i've argued with friends, do C3PO and R2-D2 get their memories deleted?

cheers

Possible solutions,

The heat from the lava cauterised the wounds (you tend not to bleed from burns, you lose plasma).

Anakin/Vader's sheer power of will through the force could have kept him alive

As for not detecting Sidious, it is mentioned (I think) in TPM that the Jedi have been experiencing a 'clouding in the force', probably down to Sidious, explaining why they couldn't detect him.

Another possibility is a similar effect to how Yoda remained hidden on Dagobah - the tree (as seen in ESB) is a dark nexus, in effect the dark side cancels out the effect of Yoda's light side of the force when viewed from the outside (Look up Yoda in the Star Wars Databank). Maybe Sidous' proximity to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant shielded him from detection by the Jedi Council.

POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW

Only C3-PO does, which explains R2's desire to return to Ben in Episode IV, whilst 3-PO only remembers Wedge Antilles as his master.

ahhhhhhhhhh that makes even more sense. always a point i contemplated after the first 2.

so i wonder why they trust R2-D2 to keep his gob shut and not C3PO. would of made a well short film.

R2-D2 to Luke on Tatooine " Darth Vaders your Dad and Leia is your sister, deal with it, i'm off to find the nutty geezer in the dunes, laters"
