Music: Light of the World?

Long shot this.

In my misspent youth my all time favourite music was by a group called Light of the World, genre Jazz/Funk fwiw. I'd really like to get hold of a cd entitled The Best of the Light of the World from about 1994.

I missed one on Ebay (not to be confused with The Very Best.......) but the seller had a starting bid of £35, I guess I don't want it that much.

So does anyone have a copy of this they wish to sell, or would be willing to loan, or know a source for such things?

Annoyingly I understand it may be a collectors item among geeky types but I just want to listen to it, go figure, so £35 seemed a bit steep. I'm now thinking of buying at that price assuming one comes up again and ripping it then putting it back on Ebay.......

Any suggestions?

Hi Tony

This isn't exactly what you're looking for but for what it's worth, these people are very good at finding rare cd's etc...

http://www.vtmusic.co.uk/shop/artist...The+World.aspx

The VT in the URL is "Vynal Tap" - for all you "these go to 11" aficionados...

Sadly, they only seem to have the 7" and 12" records mate, no cd's.... Mind you, email them and I think they can look for you...

Hope it helps

Well in my youth I was a believe it or not a DJ and use to work at many of
the South's larger venues.

So although I dont have any albums, I'm sure I've got some 12inch singles.
Not sure if I can do a CD, but maybe a tape. Will have a look see.

If I remember rightly LOTW started of jazz/funk and had a couple of early
hits. "London Town" rings a bell, but may be wrong. After a mid funk chart
couple of years I think they quit and half formed "Beggar and Co". They did
a Spandeau Ballet remix effort er think it was chant no 1 or something.

I'm off away training a bunch of newbies in the Canaries after Tues, so might
be a week.

Rgds

Spot on as I recall it, if you get the chance to have a look that'd be great
