Unhappy Damn Lawnmowers

I went out shopping last night with the Mrs, to get a cheap lawnmower, as the one i bought late last year, I don't like and fancied a different one, anyone want to buy a flymo compact?????

as usually happens at these times, I started looking at the £50 ones, then finished up with a £200 petrol one

anyway, I got it home last night and assembled it tonight, but could'nt get the thing to start, and I pulled the cord for ages, and it kept almost starting, but not quite, this was very tiring, then after 10 - 15 minutes of constantly trying to start it, I noticed that I'd not connected the spark plug after connecting it, the mower started first time ,

but now as the evening is progressing, my back is aching, I've slipped a disc ( my pelvis / hips are out of line, it's happened loads of times previously ) with all the effort of starting the thing, so it looks like a day or 2 off of work, and a trip to the chiropractor to get my pelvis shoved back into line,

2 days off work... £xxx
chiropractors bill... £40
wife laughing at not connecting the spark plug...- pricelesss

oops, hope the back pushes back into line easily again! But how do you manage your cylinders and weight belt for diving with a dodgy back ?

luckily my wifes back is strong..!!!!! :,

I had a disc operation 4 years ago, where they scrapped some of the disc away, and they said at the time, that I'll probably need the same thing done within 5 years, but so far so good

it's ok for normal stuff, work, football, diving

I only cut mine 10 days ago, and I still got a full bin bag full, and I only have a medium front lawn, small back lawn, and a smallish bit at the side of the driveway

I've not cut my back garden yet this year, and I'll be paying the price for neglect when I do. I won't get from one end to the other before the grass boax needs emptying If I'd done it sooner, I might have got two lengths to the grassbox full.

I'm going to have the same problem, I keep looking at my "lawn" and thinking maybe tomorrow, but as usual, tomorrow never quite makes it.
I'm going to need my Dr. Livingstone hat and shirt and Crocodile Dundee knife to tackle it soon

The grass is in the garden, not the house! We bought this house because it had a large enough garden to allow us to extend, but shortly after we moved in, Sarah decided that she wanted to be a full time student so we never had the money to build. Now she's back at work we've got to pay of the debt incured over the last 6 years or so before we can build. By the time we've done that the children will have all left home

Grass in the house - thats a flashback to my days at university. I doubt I will ever see as much skunk and resin if I lived forever as I did one day in my 4th year. God knows what my then flatmate was doing with it on my kitchen table, but lets say he didn't stay much longer in the flat. Never heard what happened to him, but if he thought that several nine bars and a similar number of bags of leaf was more than a wee bit excessive for one person to have in their possession I doubt it was going to turn out very nicely.

Moving back onto conversation, I've just got my paws on a 1967 suffolk punch that I got from my Granddads and it still goes like a dream. Best thing is that you don't have to push it, just control the throttle and walk behind. Oh and it does awesome stripes.
