Why should the council have that responsibility - just because they disposed of it at a council tip? Does no-one take responsibility for their own actions anymore?

| OK so maybe Im stupid but I would not have thought twice about chucking my old PC in a rubbish dump. I would have assumed it would have been crushed burnt or just recycled. I would not have imagined the council would have sent it to Lagos to be sold as parts. I would imagine that a lot of people would have felt the same. Otherwise they would not have made the programme and the guys in Lagos would have been up to something else. The thing I now find a worry is what about dive shops pizza places etc that you order goods over the phone. I bet they dont all wipe the computers that are thrown away. To be honest I dont have no money so if they ever get my card details they wont be able to do that much with them. Although saying that they probably could! Jamie |

| Trouble is it's not necessarily money they are after. If they can get enough info on someone, they can create false identities, get documents etc....

| When I worked at a Pizza place we typed the card details onto the PC so they would be on the hard drive. I dont know much about PC's but in theory they would still be on the drive unless they are deleted? Not sure though. Jamie |

| i have equipment that will recover any information even after a hexadecimal wipe which most people use there is only one way Finbars 2lb lump hammer and then its wiped, and in recovering some peoples hard drives at the shop i have had to hand them over to the police, as i recovered stuff that the customer thought was long gone so remember 2lb lump hammer and then buy a new hard drive
