| Engagement rings OK, don't anyone get the wrong idea here, but I have been looking at engagement rings recently and am wondering what the cost should be.... I remember in the olden days that it was considered right to spend a months wages on one. Now I'm a Yorkshireman and that sounds like a lot to me.... So go on let's see what you lot think. Also am I just wrong to even be considering cost? It sounds a bit tight, but how can you spend a months wage on something and not consider the cost? Sitting here waiting to be called names by all of the ladies.... Andy

| Mention that you think large diamonds are a vulgar display of wealth and save money for the honeymoon. It worked for me. Alistair |

| No engagement ring for Mrs. NickB But, as we met & married within the same month, there was barely enough time to get the wedding ring. |

| Also, does anyone know wehat happens if (a) the girl says no; or (b) the ring doesn't fit? Are shops happy to take back unwanted rings and offer a refund and/or change the size of the ring? Just interested.... |
