| bummer....should read contracts better I finished some projects for a company whom I was waiting to hear feedback from them as some of the work will be published in scientific journals. go from no problems to "restricted", which means they can with hold the report indefinitely. Usually my contract states a restriction time frame, 1 month, 6 months etc. but just checked this one and it doesnt state a date which implies indefinite time period. although there are royalties payments supposed to made to me, but try proving that in court. its "funny" hearing the manager laugh through the fun in short wont see a penny and cant boost my reputation which i depend on to get new contracts. plus i signed a non-disclosure form as well so I cant even discuss it when interviewed for other contracts. I can discuss up to the scope of the published report if published. bugger second time this has happened as well i hate small print, who the heck reads 20 pages of legal malarky anyway....i should do in more detail. gets run through by legal team thats about it. why do i continue to work with these people? I dunno... nice staff and co-workers but manager and legal people are pure evil, lying scum. on the bright side, it was a piece of pretty darn good work. so at least I am proud of that. |

| yeah, i do read my contracts sadly without enough attention to detail. its checked by the legal team and my immediate supervisor goes over it as well. guess we missed it this time, didnt see it coming a few years ago when we signed it. the first time wasnt due to a contract problem was a bit more complicated due to mixing friendship and work relations. i do suffer from the problem of filing in official forms and things like that, my brain cannot process them properly. i skim alot of documents and only read important parts, i have difficulty reading properly and have to use aids to read important things. getting better at it but its still difficult. live and learn |
