| Instead of the dive show... for horse lovers and maybe veggies :) Instead of the giant jumble sale that is the dive show, I spent Saturday learning how horse's legs worked: ![]() That's me holding the cannon bone and distal extensor tendon in my left hand, deep digital tendon in my right with my little finger hooked under one of its arteries that I'd spent about 20min detaching from the bone. I think this horse may have problems, it certainly isn't going to walk again Surprisingly relaxing and an absolutely fascinating afternoon. Amazing what £2.50 will buy you from a knacker's yard. I was quite impressed by my efforts, I thought about varnishing it but wasn't sure what to ask for in B&Q. If anyone ever offers you a tutorial in equine dissection, jump at it. And yes it was done under adult supervision.

| I don't suppose the word 'why' could be factored into this thread?

As to why, my girlfriend keeps her horses unshod so the feet and legs take a lot more maintenance. This was an anatomy demo done by her foot-trimmer where she takes one apart then you do your own, Generation Game stylie. I know I'm a lightweight for wearing gloves but the legs had, er, matured over a couple of days prior to this.
