Heroes.

I was shown an excellent new series that’s airing at the moment in the states, I’m sure at some point it’ll be on Sky but it was absolutely brilliant. Its called Heroes and its based on a superhero idea but with a number of twist and some good humour. Its definitely not an X-men spandex superheroes thing but much more gritty.

All those humans with powers are only just finding out about them and don’t really understand them at all.There is the usual cast of Hollywood types such as the cheer leader, the artist, the confused boy, the senator but its all done with a lot more style. For instance the artist can paint the future but only when he’s high on heroine, the cheerleader is indestructible and ends up on an autopsy table at one point. The funniest character is the Japanese guy who can bend space and time with some funny consequences when they get to Vegas.

There are some seriously dark characters such as the Las Vegas stripper with some sort of split personality, and when her alter ego comes out she tends to rip people in half. Then there’s the real baddy Silar who has a tendency to leave people hanging from walls using nothing but cutlery and then taking they’re brains out.

All in all I thought it was a brilliant series and well thought out, I saw the first 8 episodes and it left me wanting more, so if you have broadband and can find it have a look you won’t be disappointed.

I've just started watching this, looks pretty good. I think I've only seen 2 episodes so far. I can also recommend Dexter. It is about a serial killer who works as a pathologist for the Miami PD. He hunts down bad guys who get away with and delivers justice in his own gruesome fashion.

don't think so but my neighbours often give me strange looks, and the trail of blood to my front door is apparently not a strong selling point.
