4x4 Repairs in the NW
Anyone know someone good at 4x4 repairs in the north-west/greater Manchester area?

Knackered the front diff on my Jeep at the weekend, it needs a complete rebuild and it isn't something I'd like to trust to a normal garage. I don't have the tools anymore to do it myself (or the patience).

try JeepClub they have a lot of recommendations and you dont have to join to browse the forums.

while you are on can I put DexronIII in the transfer case on my cherokee or does it ned to be Dexron II ?

I belive its ok to use dextron III instead of II but not the other way round

There is a place near me which seems to sell quite a lot of 4 x 4's although I don't know if they stock or repair Jeeps.

David Oldham - Glossop

Isn't there a Jeep place on the A6 between Manchester and Stockport.

It's mentioned in the Haynes manual, can't recall off the top of my head but Wacker sounds right.

There is but I don't want to use a dealer as they charge a fortune. I've had pretty poor experience with stealerships in the past too, they don't seem that good for anything other than standard service parts.

the Haynes manual contradicts the Owners manual!!! I just dont fancy a £1K repair bill for a new transfer box.

Try westcoast 4x4 in soutport i think friend used them a while back and raved about them (granted i cant remember what for)
