| I always put yes. I cannot see well unless I have my seeing aids fitted. Not usually made a difference, although I did have to get special framed glasses that would fit under a FFM. Confined space SCBA - not SCUBA. Adrian

Guess that all depends on where your applying? If its private business, its possible that it could be viewed negatively? If its public, then its most likely to be treated positively! However, in both cases they should be treated the same and in fact should receive positive discrimination, it that you get more favourable treatment over an able body person. As set out in DDA details of right and duties can be seen on this site

| If you state you have a disability, then many employers will automatically give an interview. They are obliged to make any reasonable adjust ments to enable you to attend. If you don't state that you have a disability, then they cannot be expected to make any adjustments. In some circumstances, this may mean that a person who could be the best candidate for the job doesn't get selected. If a disability prevents an applicant from doing a job effectively, it should be shown whhy that is the case. For example, if a person applied for a job which was 90% typing, but had a disability which made it difficult to do that job, such as arthritis, then the employer could refuse to employ them. However, if typing was only, say, 10% of the job, it would be more difficult to show. The DDA is supposed to protect people with disabilities within employment, including recruitment from suffering a detriment by reason of their disability.
