After slipping 3 discs in my back four years ago was advised by my doctor that my running days were over as running is an "impact" sport and jars the frame. Hence the training bike. The beauty of the bike is that I wack a dvd on and peddle away to my hearts content, yesterday for example peddled approx 13km, lost 241 cals, increased the heartbeat, sweated out buckets all whilst watching fawlty towers ![]()

Have failed twice since xmas to get onto the horse at the riding school.. 'tis hasn't happend in ten years and the only reason I can think off is having put on 6 kg over the last two months.. had to cancel gym membership for cost reasons and have not been swimming regularely since November.. and comfort eating mainly.. so plan is to go swimming regularely at lunchtime again, but pool is closed for renovation until Feb.. and motivation is low .. as it's 13:30 I shall do that now.. Bye til later and keep up the good work Anke

| I've just been for a (very) brisk walk for about 25 minutes, thanks to the advise of David G. I suppose its about a mile and a bit I've walked, but it's a mile and a bit more than I walked yesterday. I've also discovered a walk along by the river that I didn't know existed, saw some long tailed tits (never seen any as close up before) as well as the usual wildlife you see along riverbanks. The downside is that I got caught in 2 hailstorms, and when you are becoming follically challenged, as I am, it doesn't make for comfortable walking! I will do this again tomorrow, increasing the distance I walk every day. Thanks David... and YD Pete ![]()

I have decided to lose 2 stones this year and get fit...1 whole pound went last week..hoping for a bit more this week now the children are properly back at school! I have been looking at this programme which I am using as a general guide: http://www.hellbot.co.uk/downloads/aep.zip Stads for "Army Exercise Programme" I believe...individual rtf pages so I printed it off. Going to be quite hard to follow so might do two weeks on each week in the programme as I'm sooooooo unfit! Cheers, David. |
