Nice one. But before you hear it from everyone else and their dog, don't worry about the weight too much, look at the size of your clothes. I know it's not as easy to observe as the scales, but the scales don't give it away either. Alternative is to get one of them body fat monitors they'd probably give you something to watch without getting disappointed when you don't lose weight (but lose tons of fat and gains loadsa muscle!).

Well done, Lloyd.

Late entrant to the thread

Having done fundies and committing to being "fit" I have had the opportunity to get to the gym everyday since last week, I hadn't done anything for ages but have really got into the swing of things now, last Thursday was my longest swim for years at 42 lengths today I am up to 68 - that's over a mile in old money

Have been really bad of late. The diving has kicked off big time so between shooting down to the coast, filling cylinders and getting down to Wraysbury mid week for a bit of training, it's not left too much time for cycling.

Must do better!

Does anyone have any links to decent calorie counting websites? The one's I have come across so far haven't quite met my needs. Sorry if any have been posted on here before - I couldn't be bothered to trawl through this long thread to see if they have.

Cheers

Also, the weight is now at 86.5kg... upping the CV workouts seems to have helped start shifting it...

Try this as a calorie counter NutritionData.com NutritionData's Nutrition Facts Calorie Counter
It's a bit of a faff to get to each food initially but it's very comprehensive

I recently changed gyms and asked them to sort a programme more catered to my needs - which would lower my weight a little after the post Xmas chocoalte madness, and also tone me up a little.

When I started there (March) I weighed 102kg and was not as toned as I would like, and I had a little weigh in yesterday and found that my eyes and my clothes were not deceiving me - I have gone down to 98kg and toned up alot. One of the instructors is now pestering me to try out for some event type stuff like a riathlon and I am seriuolsy considering it, just to try it. I went to the unuaual step of timing a 5k run last week and covered it it in 25m 05s which is pretty good for me. (It was on a treadmil though!!).

Go-on, enter a triathlon... You'll get hooked :-)

Well, I swam on Tuesday and actually managed to make my muscles ache, then went to the gym yesterday - I managed 2 miles on the treadmill before my knee started to properly hurt so I stopped it at that point and did some light weights. I was also suprised and pleased to find that the rowing machine doesn't seem to hurt my knee and I can still pull a decent pace on it - so I might spend more time on that until I can get back on the bike and running properly.

I desparately want to go out on the club bike ride on Saturday but I know it will only put me out of action for another week...

So... swimming again tonight.
