| Tri is all done! I took lots off my swim time compared to last year! Also improved the bike a bit - sadly the run time was dismal :-( I promised myself I'd go running last week but I spent it camping in a very muddy field and diving whenever the weather permitted and was so shattered that training just didn't happen. Still, every muscle in my body aches from lugging kit around, on and off buses and boats, up and down the beach at Porthkerris and doing DL 'rescues' onto the shore so that must count for something! On the other hand I ate fish and chips 3 times in 9 days and more pasties than I care to think about... Still - 3 weeks to the next one. That's in Porthcawl so not too far away Lloyd - start preparing your excuses! :-)

Weekends are pretty busy at the moment, next weekend is diving in Plymouth, then food and drink festival (hoping the Italian company with the flavoured olive oils are back!), then Chepstow for the horsies, and then the weekend after is the Great Welsh run. Phew! I have this great new tactic for gym days now, 45 mins cardio, some weights, situps, and stretches. Then it's into the sauna with my book, very relaxing. It's helping that I'm living on my own at the moment so my housemate isn't there to encourage me to drink (well we're a bad influence on each other really that said a new case of wine has just arrived, the rack looks horrible full!).If you fancy coming for a run at some point you know where I am though! Lloyd

| Ok, so how's my training been going? I've recently changed my speed work sessions, instead of doing what everyone else is doing I'm doing my own thing. I have always been a good sprinter, so runnign 800m at a steady pace doesn't stretch me, so I thought I'd try shorter distances at a fast pace. Tuesday I did 3x200m, 2x300, 400, 2x300 & 3x200m. All at a fast pace, the 200m were at 34secs (should have slowed that down a few seconds though), the 400 at 1:30. Everyone at the club has noticed an improvement in my running so I'm gonna stick to my new regime for now.

| To go off at a slight tangent... I have lost one and a half stone in 3 weeks. Weighed in at 14st 9lbs 3 weeks ago. Weighed in at 13st 2 (and three quarters) this morning. No I haven't got an incurable sexual disease (how I missed getting one in my youth is beyond me, looking back at my antics, and some of the rather dubious err, 'girls' I went with )Slim Fast - that's the answer! Actually, the answer is controlling how much food you eat, and what food you eat. It's just that Slim Fast have got it down to a T - easy to do, all comes in neat packets/ bottles - convenient. I am now the weight I want to be... I can still binge a bit at the weekends , and then go on maintenance during the week - suits me Sir! Pete

| Well done 3D! Well, I haven't been able to get out on my bike on account of studying the last two weekends, and the crap weather. However, in my second week back at Slimming World I have lost another pound bringing the total to three Phew - at last my weight is going in the right direction.

| Well done BB! These slimming clubs are hugely effective. My running buddy decided to change our route this morning and I really didn't fancy the hill work he wanted (after diving last night). Worked out well though. Am feeling better than normally do after a running morning. |

Somehow despite competing at triathlon I am now the heaviest I have ever been (yes, I know the fat and muscle argument but I have also gone up a clothes size - sulk). This is not a good thing. So to make me train I have gone and entered an Olympic distance tri in a months time - panic, panic! At the moment I can't run a whole 10k let alone at the end of a triathlon! So the plan is to go cycling twice a week, swimming twice a week and running twice a week - I really need to be running more than that but I need to give my body one day a week off or I'll injure myself again. If I finish the Olympic tri it will be a minor miracle!
