Time Capsule
The wife of one of my colleagues is about to have a baby and, as a present, we're putting together a time capsule to be opened when the child is 18.

We've thought of loads of 'current' things to put in, like newspapers for the day she's born, a fashion mag, a travel brochure, weather and shipping reports, estate agent house details for a house in her area, a 2007 almanac and a McDonalds menu.

Can anyone think of anything else we could put in?

We thought of a similar thing - one of those 100 Places To Visit Before You Die type books, 'cos most of the places either won't exist or will be hideously touristy.

How about a coin set from this year? I have a mint set from the year I was born - it's not worth a huge amount but I love the fact that it has a half penny coin (it reminds me of the half penny sweets that were around when I was a kid).

Also, a world atlas/political map - the country borders are bound to have all changed.

A computer or gadget magazine could provide much hilarity in 18 years time when it's all unbelieveably out of date.
