Woookinhoo! My PC remembers YD!

Well, I removed McAfee and all my login problems are resolved. I have installed AVG (was on my last PC) and turned on the Win Firewall.

I'm a bit disappointed with McAfee apparently causing the problem as I had been in and lowered every setting I could find ........... I obviously missed something?

Phew ........ what a relief. I had to login again after every post/reply/move to a diff page ..............

Maybe I'll stop suffering drop outs where I had to go back onto the net again.

AVG has just finished scanning and I'm virus free.

I don't know ............. is Jay's full name Jay McAfee?

I have signed up with the Google home page, Google Groups, Picassa and Gmail and it all seems to work very well. I will be checking to try and find out what info about me is being tracked or kept but, at the moment, I'm one happy PC bunny again.

Finless, it sounds as if you were using the McAfee "Personal Internet Security" option thingie... if it is not set up properly, it will not allow your PC to transmit any info (such as you YD login info...)

I have to admit, that is the one bit of the McAfee software I don't run - and I work for them!

What confused me was my right clicking on the McAfee icon on the program bar (?) at the bottom of the screen and selecting exit or cancel only to find some of it was still running.

I'm sure that if I had spent more time with it I would have found out how to resolve my problem.

The thing with any AV software (or Security software) is that elements have to run as services, not a programs.
Also, the icon inthe bottom right-hand corner is just to do with the pretty UI that they've designed (different office to me, I would on the corporate stuff) to control all the other bits... closing hte UI doesn't close all the other bit. (AV, Firewall, Spam etc.
