Final Week at work - numpty managers

So I'm now in my final 4.5 working (ha ha) days in this job before starting my new and exciting job next monday.

On Friday I did some letters to our contracters about payments. Bearing in mind that since handing my notice in my boss has insisted on checking and double checking EVERY letter that goes out!!

So I did 6 letters and saved them in a folder for her to check, make ammendments and post out. She disappears to a meeting so I leave her a note "I have written out the envelopes for the letters. Please finish checking them, make ammendments and put them in the post, I've gone home" (It was 5.30pm!!)

So she now comes up to me and says - I need o talk to you about the letters.
K - Well I'm eating my lunch can I get you in a bit
Manager - OK but I'm just confused as to why there were 5 envelopes and 6 letters.
K - well one organisation has two contracts that needed letters. They go to the same person.
M - OK did you send them out
K - no you wanted to check them
M - but that means they missed fridays post
K - you said I shouldn't send them until you had checked them. So I left you a note to check them, make ammendments, print and post them.
M - Oh.......OK then.

Then I start eating my now slightly tepid dinner which is getting colder by the second!

Why oh why do I have to suffer her idiocy. I'f I'd printed them and posted them she'd have had a go becuase she hadn't checked them and I'm sorry but I'm not loitering around after 5 waiting for her to come back from her meeting.

Everyday I am reminded of why it is a good idea that I leave.

just think about diving, in 5ish weeks you will be in Scapa, and in 5 days you will be in Capernwray.

or you could just surf YD all day what they going to do ..... sack you.

That sound a lot like where I work, except the manager sits around doing nothing all day too. Then put their name on my work.

Sucks to be me.

your missing the point regarding managers, don't assume they're actually more intelligent or know more about the job than you.

they are more often than not promoted cos they'll do less damage and as a manager they can be kept away from important stuff with meetings and spreadsheets, leaving the real running of the company to the staff who actually know the job.

Day one back in my Old/New Job - the one I did for half a day before I got seconded elsewhere in November. Busy busy busy
