I just noticed one of our member's new signature saying "You may think it's funny but we 9 million Londoners have got to PAY £9 billion for the Olympic Games. That's £1 million each!"

Surely it is £1000 each as 9,000,000,000 / 9,000,000 = 1,000 so stop moaning.

I'm still glad that I live in the North

I think that this reflects the age of the member... as I think that you'll find that the treasury uses 109 as we have been sadly americanized. Certainly when talking abut the Olympics they are talking about £9,000,000,000 not £9,000,000,000,000.
