What Mountain Bike?

Afternoon all,

Looking for a bike for road use and light off road use, probably a hardtail I would think.

Criteria:
Under £400
Disc Brakes if possible
Nice comfy seat
No cheap and nasty makes with cheap components

Can anyone suggest a bike along with outlet?

Many thanks,

Ian

Anything from the big manufacturers would probably be okay for that sort of use. So, Marin, Trek, Specialised, Giant...

I would question the need for disk brakes for light usage, though. V-Brakes are easy to maintain and have lots of stopping power. Pads are cheap, too...

I'd recommend Orange, but they have nothing in that price bracket (I love my '98 P7!)

Yeah,

Went through the same thing at xmas, my old man has this one Evans Cycles: Product: GT Avalanche 2.0 Disc 2007 Mountain Bike Perfect for your price range. I have the next one up from this and have given it a total trashing and yet the bike hasnt falted once, only thing i have had to replace is the brake pads, twice. Gets my thumbs up over any other bike.

p.s
if you get the next model up you can get it in matt black! Very dir!!!
