Little Venice, London

[Diving Dude]

l've lived within greater london for all but my first three years of life when l lived in Uganda and for the first three years of my marriage when l lived in Hertfordshire and tomorrow l'm going sightseeing in London.

We're starting off in little venice on a canal boat, which goes past London Zoo and on to the docklands and back.

The reason l'm finally doing this is that my son-in-laws mum and niece are on holiday here from South Africa and want to see london. l don't know who'll be the bigger tourist me or them!

I work in central London very occasionally, usually with an overnight stay, and do tend to be a bit of a tourist when there during my time off.

However plans to take the kids up there were kind of scuppered when i started looking at family prices to do things there, everything was at least about £70

It is a very long walk from the nearest underground station to Winchester Cathedral, so you could be forgiven for not having seen that one

See i dont even know the proper name of the damed thing and it was less than 10miles from my front door whern i lived in Cristal Palace

I took my fiance, this was 1972, up to my parents home in Oxford to meet them all.
She was looking forward to it and wanted a trip round town to see the sites.
Despite being born there it turned out she knew more about it than I did.

I tend to avoid the touristy bits. Josie's mum lives in Stockwell, so we skirt wround the centre when ever we go, as will we do tomorrow.

I've done the tourist thing a few years ago, but hate the drive now so avoid it as much as possible.
