Currently stranded at work, looked at the BBC website and basically its chaos. Half of the M62 and M621 is closed apparently and the Headrow and Wellington Street are in gridlock.

A colleague has offered me a lift so we are going to wait a bit and hope it clears some.

The river at the back of my office was starting to flood the road this morning, by noon it was at the entrance to the carpark, by 1PM, I'd closed the office and gone home

The river there had risen during last weeks rain by about 8 feet above normal, it was even higher today and we have all the rest of today and more tomorrow.

I shall be mostly playing on t'internet

I have to go and pick my other half up from York because she's on the way back from Edinburgh and they're stopping the train in York - nothings going into Leeds at all. So, if you're still stuck and want a lift, give me a shout. leaving 7ish - 0794 771 2316

I know its not Leeds but on the Work Flooded thing,

I used to work for a large faceless US company in Edinburgh, which I hated and left...

..well it had a shallow sloping ramp into the building and a large puddle would build up on the road outside. It was on the main bus route out of Edinburgh heading west. During a hurrendous down pour, the constant busses passing the door washed waves and waves of water into building over a weekend On Monday morning the basement floor was flooded 2ft and the water marks were 4ft up the wall....

love it....

Just driven home along the M62 from Leeds took me..........well just about the same time as normal really.

There is a lot of water out there though. That weather bloke says that for yorkshire its the wettest month EVER!!!! Not the wettest June, but the wettest MONTH.

Right, i'm off to build an arc. Anyone seen a couple of ant eaters?

Tell that to the relatives of the poor bastard that lost his life today, and to the rescue services that spent hours trying to save him.

Fuck me, some people think the world revolves around them.
