Exclamation Small Claims Court - Info. needed
Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience of starting a claim in a small claims court?

Anyone have any info. How much it costs, maximum amount claimable etc. or web links?

All help & advice appreciated

Making a Claim

I have experience of starting a claim but it was settled out of court following the Allocation Questionnaire.

If the claim is less than £5000 then the claim it is a "small claim".

You can submit claim online or by using an N1 you can get from your local court or online.

IIRC the cost is a sliding scale up to £120 and depends on the size of the claim.

The charges are relevant to the amount you are claiming but are not excessive. Scuttlers link should tell you all you need to know.

We had to to this when Mr Helen had a business and it was pretty straight forward.
