Excel Help Required

Ok. Excel is doing my head in as I can't sort out a formulae. Help from the YD Masses before my budget collapses!!

We sell tickets for an event. We record this as income i.e. a negative number in excel

Our venue holds 1000 people and the average ticket price is £10.

So if we receive £80,000 in income it is indicating that we held 8 gigs (variables excepted!! They're not all sold out and ticket values differ but thats too complicated!)

So we pass on the ticket income to the promoter, less our fee for using our facilities - usually around £3k.

So I have income (E7) -80,000

Amount to refund to promoter =E7-((E7/1000/10)*3000)

But of course the solution to the formulae is -56,000

But this is an expenses so I need to turn my negative into a positive?????

HELP!!!!!

Also, I would recommend using the 'bracket' number format to report credits. It is much easier on the eye and easier to spot?
