My Dog Millie!

Sorry, had to share this even though I know no one’s interested!!!!! I needed to shout this out to the world that I’ve had the biopsy results to the growth my dog had removed and it’s not cancerous!!!! Best news I’ve had all week!!!

To explain, Millie is a border collie and a tad ball/stick obsessed. She would quite happily have you throw a ball for her and bring it back and drop it at your feet all day long. I have another dog, Rogan. He’s the village idiot and the funniest friendliest dog you’ve ever met, and loves to be a joker! He’s figured out that Millie drops the ball at your feet, which gives him time to steal it and run off with it, as pleased as punch. So Millie tends to be a little reluctant to let go of the ball when he’s nearby! One day last year I was walking along with another dog walker and she dropped the ball at his feet. The guy went to do a drop kick, but Millie must’ve caught sight of Rogan and at the same time she lunged for the ball. Steel toe cap met chin, very loudly. The howl Millie made was blood curdling. I’ve never heard a sound like it coming from a dog. Millie is very stoical and never complains. But this was like nothing I’d heard before. Even Rogan went up to her full of concern – not like him AT ALL!!!! (typical male!!!! )

Anyway, she recovered and after a while I noticed a small mole type thingy (medical term that! ) under her chin. I’ve been watching this mole for the past year, but over the last few months it’s been growing fairly rapidly. Finally the vet said it needed to be removed (thank goodness for pet insurance!).

The vet’s now rung and it’s a follicular hamartoma. Non cancerous, may be born with it but can be caused by trauma or swelling! It’s all gone and that’s it all sorted!

This is turning out to be an ok week after all! What with getting back in the water with some great mates too!

Fantastic news. They are part of the family, and so I can understand how worried you were.

The other problem is she nearly killed herself with a stick on Saturday night too! Some guy threw it for her, she launched on it and it's punctured the back of her soft palette! Bloomin' dog! Recovering from that too!

I've got you sussed now, I had my old boy Jake trained to find blondes, we'd hit the beach I'd send him off and find him 20 minutes later being fussed over by a good looking woman, great way to start a conversation. You on the other hand get men to maim your dog.
