This arrived via email and has probably circled the globe several times already but, on the off chance you haven't seen it, I thought I'd post it for your cerebral titillation. I don't know why but the last 101% bit slightly irritates me as I don't really like religious type propaganda. Nonetheless, I do find maths/patterns quite interesting:-

Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help answer these
questions:

If:
H-A-R-D-W-O- R- K

But:

I love numbers stuff, particularly the number 9, it's ace

I take it you know that if you were to add a column of numbers twice and found differing results there is an easy way of checking where you went wrong. Assuming one result is correct and if the dfference between the 2 results is divisable by 9 one of the numbers has been transposed in your addition.

I thought everyone knew this as it's something I seem to have known for my entire adult life but I had to explain it the other week so maybe others might enjoy knowing

Did you also know about easily calculating your 9 times table up to 10 x 9 on your fingers ?

fibonacci was the numbers genius, but I love numbers and their sequences. the number 9 is truly wonderful as is the 9 times table

the sum digits add up to 9 if you keep adding until you get 1 digit




1x9=9
2x9=18 (1+8=9)
