| I think that you ought to leave at least one radiator open for the safety mechanisms to work, else you might find a mangled boiler on the floor on one particularly cold day. Get an engineer in!

| Have you got a thermostat? What is it set to? This cold be the reason the bioler has come on, if the temp has gone below the switch on temp? Ditto on leaving at least one radiator on a bit. Dave C |

| Yup, diverter valve. |

| A girlie view....ther is a thingy in the boiler or somewhere which tells the water where to go. It is about the size of a mug and is usually brass coloured and shiny. Whack it with a hammer. (well, it worked for me when my boiler went wrong a few years ago (a week later it went wrong again so i called the engineer who changed it for a new one. apparently it was broken )

| Diverter valve. You can fix it yourself (I do most of my own repairs) but I'd recommend calling someone out unless you really know what you're doing. |

| How do you know its the Diverter valve ? This particular model does not have a divertor valve but a secondary heat exchange item 89 without travelling down to Dorset and taking a good look a few questions 1. does the heating come on without the Hot water being requested eg. turning tap on. 2. Do the radiators just get a little warm ( som combi boilers use the heating side of the system as a heat dump to relieve the excess heat following prolonged use of the hot water. Below is a link to the exploded parts list http://www.harrian.com/Prod_info/inf...0015700001.pdf Attempting to repair gas appliances is dangerous without the correct training and experience

my partner had a cold shower this morning cos it wouldn't get warm and on getting out found the radiator was red hot!!!!! the only way she could get the boiler to stop putting heat in the radiators was to turn it off. but I have since reproduced the boiler heating the radiators without asking for hot water!! so to 1. no and 2. no they get really hot. steven |
