| I started my teacher training course when I was 36 - finished with my degree 4 years later :-) Fun times but with a husband and family to look after it was a shade fraught at times - but a great crowd of people who I still socialise or work with :-) Are there any or were older students around here??? Enjoy Sipadan - BTW what are you studying? Jackie ![]()

| I was an older student (28-32 years old for my first course), but not full time. Working full time, plus overtime to pay my course fees, attending college two evenings a week 6-9pm, going to the library at weekends and not driving at the time was a real PITA but the BESTEST thing I have ever done

| I completed a 2 year HND when I was 30, and my teaching degree (2 year BEd) when I was 36. I have actually spent 8 years as a student in higher education, all paid for by the taxpayer

| Hello this is my first post on YD. I'm 35 and in the final year of a radiography degree, having done maths at uni when I first left school and had no idea what I wanted to do! It's hard work but worth it, but I can't party as hard as the youngsters! |

| Started my second first degree this week. I am one of the oldest at 36 but since my degree will only be two years long, I will be practicing by the time the wee shites in my year are looking for a traineeship (and the burds are all hot). Did I mention the £30 per year for the use of two sets of sports facilities (and a little more for the dive club) one of these is only 5 mins drive from my house (and the burds are all hot). Was mildly entertaining on day one, when one of the kids asked if I was staying in halls. I pointed out that I had a house, he thought I lived with my parents. Narrow minds are always fun to manipulate |
