Lost the formula - AGAIN!!!!

Sorry, I know I've asked this, and received a reply, before but I have spent 5 mins searching and ...............................

In fact, I couldn't even figure out the right question to put into Google.

What is the formula for calculating how much an electric appliance will cost to run.

I'll write the answer down this time! Promise!

Look at how much the leccy company charges per Kw Hr then look at the consumption rate per hour of the appliance .

1 kw of electricity is 1 unit .
1kw = 1000 watts
so if you have a 300 watts appliance you
take 300 watts divided by 1000 watts = 0.3 units of electricity per hour

a 3 kw fan heater will use 3 units per hour .
OK ?

My old fan heater only says 240V~50Hz, 2000W.

How do I know it uses 2000W in an hour? Is that just a given that any wattage figure on an electrical appliance is "per hour"?
