Somebody once pointed out to me that we have an Essex, Sussex, and used to have a Wessex, so that's east, south and west Sex, now what happened to Norsex?

The answer is obvious, they decided to call it Norfolk!!!!

(I'll get me coat)

PS Muff is the perfect location to have a dive shop (think about it.....)

Erm *cough* Norfolk is paired with Suffolk, meaning North folk and South Folk.

As for Wessex, Essex, Sussex and the one you forgot Middlesex. The sex part of the name comes form Saxon, they were the southern people, so they translate roughly into

Western Southeners
Eastern Southeners
Middle Southenes
and Deep South Southeners.

Northern Southeners doesn't really work, hence no Norsex.

That's as I remember it from a Tony Robinson thing on the telly a while ago anyway, only remembered it because I wondered the same thing.
