It would seem Diving-Moose is the only 'Tough Guy' on YD then

I would have no chance of getting into shape in time. I may consider it in 2009, but need to see how things pan out.

what distance is this, if it only takes 1:42 it can't be that long just very muddy.

i'll stick to 20+ miles and drinking like a fish in the pub afterwards

You do not need to be in shape - you should see some of the people doing it.!!! - well out of shape, but they get round and have a lot of FUN!.

You have to be able to handle the cold! (start taking very cold baths!!) - you will spend a lot of your time in the water or queing at the bottom of cargo nets! - unless you have done it loads of times and can start at the front!

Winter one is the best! - especially if there is a frost about!!......the summer one is a bimble akin to your cross country school running!!!
