Hi there,

Just depressed myself by reading divenet, the replies to the post from the reference to the dive accident with Bill Smiths project, If anyone with half a brain, read my post, they would have seen that I was laughing at Bill Smith (Project Leader??) getting told how to do a particular job the right way by a professional diver who was being given a hard time by mr smith, not because an amateur diver floated to the surface unconcious.  I guess those people wanted a piece of me for mentioning something bad.  But I believe that every incident should be talked about cos how are we going to learn to avoid them.

Does anyone know, (forgive my ignorance) what does RMVD mean??

I havent bothered replying to those posts, but I am looking forward to seeing the details of the diving accident in next years diving accident reports for 2001, to see how it happened.(cos if it has been reported to the relevant authorities it will be there).
I started moving into my little office yesterday, painted a wall where there was a spot of rain damage and loaned (a FREEBIE) some wet suits and drybags to some local students for a video that they are doing. Profit? thats only a word in the bible....or is that prophet?
happy diving all,
moon

Hi Moon,I got the drift of your comments. It was I fear me who started that by querying L.Trewevas role on the project and it went from there.RMVD  is removed.Occasionally I get really pissed with it all and delete a lot of my old posts-nothing to do with a particular thread etc.I also remove them if I give someone details that maybe everyone should'nt.If you're interested in what went on I can ask about,I vaguely know Brian Gilgeous but have'nt worked for him,I do know Zaid very well though who also worked on the project. It is true that many divers (rec here)don't like being associated with misfortune which is sad as these are the hardest lessons but lessons all the same.Don't botherabout Dnet, they've threatened to ban me in the past!Regards,Hobby.

What s Divernet then, oh, hang on, it's THAT site is it?  Used to go on it you know, 'til I realised how misinformed, ignorant and generally rude the majority of the people on it are.  Do ANY of them actually dive?

RMVD...Duhhh.... I can lift heavy things though, thanx Hobby (and andy), There's always someone on that site that says something about a persons dive experience (There's a remark by someone in my thread on that site, Louise T from Diver magazine, I would hate to embarrass the lass with my experience!!) but I would love to add my time up underwater over the past thirty years, write it all down in a book and shove it up her backside.

Whenever you are going to W.Scotland you're very welcome to call in for a crack and a cup of coffee, (I'll even hide the paint brushes!) I've offered the people on Yorkshire Divers the use of an air fill, (230bar... finally got the compressor manual!!) if they are needing it, it's free to YD'ers with maybe a cup of coffee thrown in!!
regards Moon

Moon,
don't let the buggers grind you down, the divernet forums end up in a flame war most of the time anyway, which is why you'll find some of the past more informed visitors here.

Sorry to jump in so late, I didn't even notice this thread! Moon, as per our previous discussions, I wouldn't worry too much about divernet, I think we can all pretty much see it for what it is, general numpty brigade posting silly stuff with nothing better to do. I've been guilty of it myself! It does seem to be that kind of forum. It's not really the fault of the webmaster etc, they can't ban everyone!
YD is very civilised and balanced and has a totally different protocol. If only all forums were like this!
YD for president!

Amen.Reassuring to see things can actually move along here too, without all the associated gash that happens elsewhere.I just tried to bring up an address on Dnet to reply to someone privately and have found that I had to re-register but it will not recognise my password.Chances are it's not deliberate but I'm the suspicious type,so...The reply was to the Rev.Philips about lads on the Bovisand prog.getting work.If he's around I only know that one of them (Cliff) got work as he did a job with me soon after he got his ticket.Things did'nt work out and he's back doing what he did before.Regards,Hobby.You can take my posts Dnet but you'll never take my freedom,HA,HA,ha,ha,ha.........

Hobby,

I think D-Net had a problem generally, I seem to remember reading that they had server problems and some things got messed up and lost, I've just had an e-mail from them giving me my nick and password again. Maybe you just got caught up in that.

Regards
Dave.
