| We have been trying to move home for just over 5 months, having seen the cottage of our dreams over the May Bank Holiday! It took the owners some time to faff around and find something to buy, but we weren't too stressed because we found a buyer in June but it took until early August to get a complete chain. Anyway, we have now reached the stage where exchange of contracts is being discussed, and here is the problem. I am off to the Red Sea on the Tala trip on 9th November and when I get back I have two days in which to get everything sorted for my Fundies course. So for us its either complete before 5th November or wait until December, which isn't really an option as with a chain of 8 someone will inevitably pull out. Guess what? 6 people in the chain, including us, can move on either 2nd or 5th November, but our vendors will only move on 5th and our purchasers will only move on 2nd!!! Estate Agents and Solicitors have actually been brilliant, going up and down the chain for a week but neither seller or buyer will budge on their dates! So, in an attempt to break the deadlock I've suggested to my Solicitor that we will complete on our sale on Friday 2nd and complete on our purchase on Monday 5th and spend the intervening 3 nights at our daughters and leave our removals in storage! I aint happy but I don't see any way out of it P.S. Don't panic - I was only joking about needing a bed! Just needed to let of some steam!

| Moving house is the most stressful thing in life I reckon. I bought my house from a chain of 1 (!) and that caused enough problems. I do not intend to move again, unless someone gives me an already vacant house on the south coast so I can move nearer to diving Hope you get into the new place without any more hassle Gav

| Sorry to hear about the stress Gav. I once had to try and coordinate a move from an Egyptian liveaboard. It was a total nightmare! Good luck with the Fundies. Have fun! Paul
