Smile chilling drinks

seeing as its friday night and the yd masses are enjoying a shandy or 2 i thought i would find out your prefered method of chilling drinks, some time ago i was in a wine shop which had a machine you put a bottle in and it chilled it while you paid, myself i tend to through them in the freezer, only trouble is if you forget them. is there something you can buy that acts like a reversed microwave ( takes warm drinks and cools them )
regards paul
enjoying a chilled stella

Plan ahead... shove 'em in the fridge.

I remember putting a bottle of bubbly in the freezer for a quick cool down and forgot about it until the next day. The freezerwas iced up with a combo of green glass and the rather expensive contents

Alternatively, drink red wine, which works srtaight out of the shop

Iced water

Needs a bit of preplanning (or ice cubes already in the freezer) but I stick some ices cubes in a bucket, several inches of water and a handful of salt in the water. It chills the wine/beer much quicker than normal iced water.

I've got a couple of coolpack sleeves that live in the freezer. You just slip one on to a bottle of wine and it's cold in 5 minutes

Do they really work? I thought that it would take that long to make the bottle cold before it got anywhere near the wine.

Yes, they're pretty good. Oddly they work best if the bottle is uncorked for some reason.

Well....................

If it is emergency rations, I put it in the freezer for as long as I can manage to wait. However, as i usually always have at least one bottle in the fridge. tghis method is not normally needed.
