Or you could have the barmy system that we have here....

I could be off 3 times during the year, and have 3 days each time. Total 9 days. Nothing would happen.
Or
I could be off 4 times during the year, and have 1 day each time. Total 4 days. I would, and have been triggered on this and had to go to a poxy interview/meeting about it.

What a joke. Next year I think I'll just take my 9 days and stick two fingers up. Makes no sense to me.

It is a system designed to prevent 'casual sickness' or realistcally, to stop you thtowing a sickie to go diving/get over a hangover/shag your nextdoorneighbours missus etc without penalising those who are genuinely sick. Some systems I know are even more draconian than yours!

Unless this person was a representative of the welfare department, a member of the medical proffession dealing with you as a patient capacity, Chaplin / similar or police then you are being harrassed - it is an invasion of your privacy. It is also not acceptable for your employer to contact you by telephone to ask you when your thinking of returning to work - this is also seen as harassment.

The question related to attendance in work can be reversed to ask what this person was doing off work premesis in work time.
