What to see around Bristol?

With Ryanair doing direct flights from Porto to Bristol my mrs and I are flying over for a long weekend at Carnival, Sunday to Tuesday. We'll be renting a car so will be flexible and would really appreciate advice on the following:

Accomodation in the area. Would love a traditional quality B&B. Town or country.

What to See? My list is Slimbridge, maybe Longleat. Cotswolds or South Wales, Pembrookshire coast, is it very far time wise?

Culturally. Thinking of Bath, mrs needs to get some boots there (don't ask!). Curious to see some wesk culture but have no idea what there is.

Thankgoodness flying to UK is not just via Stansted, just the aiport is a nightmare.

Now Ryanair air, bloody gits, all the taxes they charge is unreal. The airfair itself is cheap but.. check in, baggage, credit card, even a tax if you wish to fart. In the end I paid €140 for 2, the airfare was just €40.

About the only useful thing Bristol has is good road and rail links so you can go somewhere nice !

The midlands is 1-2hrs depending where you;re going. Slimbridge is near.
Pembrokeshire isnt - its about 150 miles and a good 2.5 hour drive - you're nearer Plymouth and that part of the south coast.

Bath is nice to see. Once for about 2 hours.
