What happens if I don't tax my car?
OK, so I go in to tax my car, something I'd not done for 12 months, and they tell me I have to bring in my insurance cert. Except I don't have one, because the insurance company hadn't sent one to the right address.

So, I have a car with no tax on it. It will be a week before I get the cert through to tax it. What happens? I presume unless I get caught on one of those camera jobbies or by a policeman I'm ok for a week?

Nothing to do with diving I grant you, but there's always some clever bod who knows what will happen with these things.

is it not a crime to not display your tax disc and be on a public high way ?

my guess is your stuffed :-) perhaps some who knows more might tell us what fine your likely to get then you can judge the risk :-)

Glad you got sorted Jack. I taxed my campervan Monday night and the tax disk turned up Wednesday, the day before I needed it. They send you a confirmation too so that if anyone questions you can confirm you have paid your tax.
