We currently have some Aussies working in our office and according to them i'm the only one they understand This seems to be partly becuase i was born in London then had my accent/vernacular softend by constently moving around.

Moving from East End London to rural Oxfordshire as a kid where I sounded like an extra from Easteneders in an episode of the Archers resulting in the usual child solution to culture clashes (FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! OH-ARRRR WEARS ME TRAKTUUR?).

Followed by Norfolfk - don't get me started on the marsh dwelling weirdo's then Lousiania - more marsh dwelling folk but makes Norolfk look developed, Texas - just plain scary and finally Yorkshire - the Texas of England.
