Diving being a prime example.

LOL - yeah, and this can also work the other way round, where they assume 'diving' on your profile means "did a try dive in a pool five years ago" like theirs does. And then even if you had a pic of yourself in a drysuit on your profile, sooner or later you'll start getting the "you are going diving AGAIN? But you've already been for a dive this year!" comments...

I've enjoyed reading this thread it has caused me to reflect on a few encounters.

I think that people stress too much about being in a relationship, I know that I did. I was married at 19 we'd already lived together for a year then so 17 years later when I was again single I didn't like it. I was used to being part of a couple and being single wasn't right. Three years passed and I was married again but I'd only had the one girlfriend in between. Then I started diving and realised that I wasn't happy in my marriage and that it was just the done thing to have a wife. We had nothing in common and the only good thing about her was that she looked like Ulrika Johnson.

Anyway I've been single now for nearly five years, I've had plenty of Girlfriends but they get pissed off sooner or later because I'm off diving somewhere but I've got used to it now.

In my limited experience if your not actively looking you tend to find. It all goes tits up though when you say I'm going to book.......

Good luck and don't stress about it I'm sure that we all find happiness at sometime.

I was married for half of my life and now I've been a widower for several years.

I used to joke:

Sussex millionaire
Heart condition
Does dangerous sports
Seeks wife

but I'm not sure if I'm serious. A relationship can be hard work even if it was just a gold-digger.
There again I have the advantage that at 58 cradle snatching is late 40s and below. My field is just so much wider than most of yours.

Perhaps that should be:

Small businessman
Works too many hours
Hobbys
Lives with Mum
Doesn't know what he wants
