As for internet dating, it's great - it means you have got all the awkward 'are our lives really compatible' bits out of the way before you actually meet. It also doesn't take long to figure out the person who claims to be a 'keen scuba diver' who actually did a try dive once on holiday or the 'keen runner' who hasn't jogged further than the chip shop since school, usually before you even meet them. Mind you, I do tend to be a bit uncompromising in my profiles and search criteria - I don't see the point in wasting time with people that I'm going to meet 2 or 3 times and decide they really are too young/old, snobby/chavvy, busy/lazy etc. Oh, and of course I am going to be keen on it at the moment since I have a lovely internet sourced boyfriend

| Ok! I've read this thread and ejoyed it! Lloyd, as usual, you had me laughing out loud! The question is, is it ok to "do it" on the first date? Boys and girls opinions welcome! And before I get a load of abuse from the girls and applause from the guys, it's JUST a question, ok!??!? Hyperthetical and all that crap! ![]()

I met phil on a boat a few months ago and haven't looked back since. Dating in your 40s is harder but my only advice would be to actually enjoy the dating and don't rush into everything being too heavy. I love being taken out on dates. jules
