As for internet dating, it's great - it means you have got all the awkward 'are our lives really compatible' bits out of the way before you actually meet. It also doesn't take long to figure out the person who claims to be a 'keen scuba diver' who actually did a try dive once on holiday or the 'keen runner' who hasn't jogged further than the chip shop since school, usually before you even meet them.

Mind you, I do tend to be a bit uncompromising in my profiles and search criteria - I don't see the point in wasting time with people that I'm going to meet 2 or 3 times and decide they really are too young/old, snobby/chavvy, busy/lazy etc.

Oh, and of course I am going to be keen on it at the moment since I have a lovely internet sourced boyfriend

I did that the other day, except it was at the end of a 10-mile run, loads of salt to replace that lost, they tasted so good, although I did get some strange looks (at least I'd earnt my chips!).

Congrats on the next date I'm dating a girl who despite me getting fairly drunk on the first date (no food all day), and turning up to the second one after having 7 cups of coffee (I don't drink coffee for good reason) she's looking forward to seeing me again?!?!

I always figure anyone crazy enough to be dating me is probably too crazy for me to date

Hmm - but you come into the other category of people who say they 'run a bit' or go to the gym 'occasionally' then don't even have the decency to break into a sweat when you take them on a 10 mile run!
Feeling guilty now - haven't been out running since the Cardiff half marathon (or swimming, or cycling....)

Sorry - I'll stop hijacking the OP's thread, it's not even Friday evening!

Its hard to sweat when its bloody freezing out, I do form a nice layer of dried salt crystals about my personage after a long run though. In the gym I leave a pool of sweat around me and if I find dry parts of my t-shirt after a workout I go back for 10 minutes (really thats true!).

Back to the dating thing.... will I ever pull at the gym, un-bloody-likely

I think you missed out some punctuation there - I've corrected it for you. Though to be honest, I am a little worried by your post

Ok! I've read this thread and ejoyed it! Lloyd, as usual, you had me laughing out loud!

The question is, is it ok to "do it" on the first date? Boys and girls opinions welcome!

And before I get a load of abuse from the girls and applause from the guys, it's JUST a question, ok!??!? Hyperthetical and all that crap!

I certainly wouldn't condemn someone for it - it's a choice that's up to the individuals involved. Realistically though (as Lloyd helpfully pointed out ) as a girl, it probably means the guy doesn't plan to see you again - or at least not get into a relationship! From my perspective, if I don't like someone enough to want to see them again I certainly don't like them enough to 'do it'. So I guess it's a no from one girl

Yeah. Once seen with no make up, straggly wet hair, walking like you need a zimmer frame and desperately wiping your face for snot it can only get better
yes but it's the killer grin that you are sporting that makes you attractive in this scenario and then there is the benefit that if you do pull on dive boat then they are totally wowed when you scrub up for a date.

I met phil on a boat a few months ago and haven't looked back since.

Dating in your 40s is harder but my only advice would be to actually enjoy the dating and don't rush into everything being too heavy. I love being taken out on dates.
