It's a bit different in your 30s than it was 10 or so years ago: talk about game playing and the art of cross-examination... Myself, normally cool and unflappable: not at this juncture!

My advice would be not to discount medication in order to alleviate your anxiety and as a medical man, I'm sure a bit of rohypnol isn't too hard to get hold of...

Wait till you're in your 40s Especially when you haven't actually dated since your early 30s Terrifying. I didn't bother

I have found that as I got older i lacked confidence when preparing for a date. So I end up with a bed full of all the clothes I have taken out of the wardrobe and tried on and discarded. Every pair of shoes I own are strewn across the floor and then its the decision making do i wear functional underwear or something a tad more sexy?
Then next major thing is where does one go, for a meal is a good bet but then no drinking as you have driven yourself to the meeting. Do you offer to pay for all the meal or just your half? Do you shake hands or kiss on cheek?

SOD IT go diving its far easier as you dont have to worry about any of the above.

I hear ya ! I used to have some great evenings out with a male mate until it seemed it was a date. I was a gibbering wreck then and hid for about a month!
