I'm sure if this is another semantics type issue. If you read my previous posts I quite clearly state that I have no problems with the core beliefs of the main religions. [EDIT]As in peace, goodwill, the 10 'thou shalt nots' etc.

Without 'the cause' the violence would either not happen or would have to be done under some other pretence. I can't see how you can argue against what I have been saying, or, at least, trying to say?

AFAIC religion is fine as long as it doesn't affect anyone else, unfortunately there are not many that do that it seems.

I come from a deeply religious family and was forced to go to Church until I got a weekend job aged 12 or 13, and as I have said before many of the overtly religious people I have had dealings with are not very Christian for 6 1/2 days a week then become very pious on Sunday morning.

Myself I try to live my life in a such a way that I wouldn't pass anyone by if I could help, do anyone down or lie cheat, steal and generally treat people as I would wish to be treated myself.

I don't need to go to Church to learn how to do this nor do I need to pray to a being that either won't help or cannot intervene because we have free will.

If Heaven does exist and I won't be allowed in because of that then I'm sure the other place will be full of decent folk as well as the wrong 'uns.

As has been said earlier 'may your God go with you'

Safe diving,
Steve
