Nope. 'They' would be equally distasteful in my eyes.

Tolerance(of the none PC kind) of others, which has to be mutial is the main thing. Most people can be whipped up wether in Sudan,Germany circa 1930's,or British, any airport.
Put it another way, mankind (a lot of) doesn't deserve religion as it gives them an excuse to be anything from bigots to murderers.

Words are usually only as meaningful as the person who hears them wants them to be. The intent behind the words is what can be really offensive. Perhaps Islam ought to accept the concept of humour and the phrase "lighten up dude"?

All religions are responsible for pain, hurt, atrocitoes and religious xenophobia. The whole 'God' thing is unanswerable and impossibleto accept without faith. Science discovered the big bang and maybe 'God' caused it. All I can say is that if God is happy with the way things are then he isn't what I would want from a benevolent God. Of course, if there are gods from Xena's world (loosely based on Greek/Roman 'theology' (pre Christian for the Romans, obviously) I suppose)then I need to pick the right one for me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again the collection of Karma seems a calmer way to go?

What a bloody useless state of affairs. OK, I understand about being sensitive to other people's religious beliefs but I really think we have gone too far in acceding to other's beliefs.

Some (most?) of these Islamist people/fanatics today seem worse than those religious nutters from here who went a-Crusading back in the day when knights were bold and ladies weren't invented, so knights drilled holes in big long poles and had to be contented?

I swear to God this world would be better without religion.

Well, I hope this is a case of the Sudanese (I think) authorities maxing the media attention and then releasing her and kicking her out of the country in order to get their message across. Apparently crowds have gathered outside where she is being kept?

I am almost really pissed of with the faith of Islam and its adherents. I mean, referring back to the cartoons in the newspaper some time ago and the furore that caused, I still say WE live in a free country (for the moment) and have our own laws about censorship etc. If you don't like them then piss off to some Islamic country.

Actually, this should really be in the gobby soap box bit. Oops.
i am with you

i believe in taking a logical approach to religion, its apparent from the happy clappers that to get into heaven you have to be a good boy and lead a tedious and boring life, BUT God is all forgiving, SO when i pop my mortal coil and IF i end up in front of St.Peter at the gates and in fact the happy clappers were right i have to eat a bit of humble pie for being a little naughty every now and again and in i go, having a lead a wonderful drug and booze filled life of debauchery while laughing at the clappers who been all good and got up at some silly hour on a sunday to wail at a wall.

simple really...

oh and if i get to the gates and hear ' by the will of Allah' i'll accept i'm fcuked.
