| Hola señora!!! I've been a couple of times with work (most recently at the same time as the Rangers Champions League game - madness!) so I'm not bothered about Ramlas prices as I'm not paying but do watch out for the prostitues - they're not too fussed what sex you are or who you are with and are expert pick pockets. I stay in Le Meridian on La Ramblas so only know a very small part but a colleague always stays in the gothic quarter and loves it. One novel place to try is if you're walking down the Ramlas towards the harbour from Le Meridian then keep looking down streets to your left - eventually you'll see a building with Superman standing on it! Go along there and turn right. A bar we only know as the 'tree bar' as it got trees growing in it! Every so often, the lights dim and flash with the sound of thunder rolls and rain! Novel the first time but gets tiresome if you're there for a few rounds! Either way - have a great birthday and a fantastic trip |

| Helen - Check out the food market on Las Ramblas - excelent. As some one else has mentioned - be careful of the pick pockets, only take out what you need for the day and lock valuables including passport in room. Have a great time ++Craig++ Last edited by pondlife : 03-12-07 at 06:25 AM. |

| You can get good food in the fish market other than that it's overpriced on the Ramblas. The Kahuna Bar (if it's still there) on Corts Catalanes is one of the most bizarre places I've ever got pissed in (cocktails in ceramic heads of south sea gods, with a generous portion of dry ice so they bubble smoke). I was staying in an apartment above it so I was a regular

I think you'll have a superb time - Barcelona is an easy city to wander around and explore on foot. Oh, and I dont know if you speak spanish, or catalan, but we spoke to locals in english or attempted a bit of catalan, and that was a good move - they really responded positively to us not speaking spanish.
