I'm not sure it does though - is that a path leading into the woods (in which case the bear is not necessarily in the woods), or is it considered to be part of the woods and therefore the bear is undoubtedly also in the woods.

Needs more investigation I'm afraid - back out with the camera

There are trees both in front of, and behind, the bear. Conclusive evidence of 'in' as any fule kno.

i dispute whether the bear in the photo is actually doing anything, it could lead to a completely false answer, when in fact the bear was doing nothing but standing strangely in the woods.

on further examination, i deduce that could be someones back garden, i can only see a few trees and that isn't proof of woods.

Unfortunately with tools such as photoshop available, the picture could be faked.....though the one of the Pope looks genuine .... if a little grainy.

The arbiter on this though, is Janooos.

Unless he says it's proven, then the jury is still out as far as I am concerned.

And as we have no real proof of what it's doing, the only proverb that it proves could actually be "Do bears wee in the woods?".

And I'm sure they do both but it doesn't have quite the same cachet to it.
