| The first thing I would do is update your video drivers http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us Louis |

| Ditto on the driver issue, does the whole computer freeze or just the game? Also is there just music or does pressing buttons and mouse clicking make sounds, just curious to see if the game or just the visuals have crashed. Pete |

| I had this problem with an almost identical spec PC (even the same video card). Video driver update sorted it.

| Hi, if your processor is dual-core you probably need to set the game to only use one processor. When the game is started get your task manager running (ALT, CTRL & Delete), find the game .exe in the list of active processes, right click on it and click on 'Set Affinity'. Two processors (e.g. CPU1 & CPU2) will be ticked so untick one and click ok. Close the task manager and go back to the game. It will probably work ok. If your machine is not dual-core it will probably be your video/audio drivers as previously mentioned. I have quite a few games that need one of the processors switching off. HTH, Mark. |

| The MX440 is not a 9.0c card, that could be the fundamental flaw in your cunning plan? You may well have 9.0c installed on your PC but the gfx card simply doesn't have the hardware to run 9.0c features, I don't think it's even DirectX 8 iIRC. New gfx card needed probably. |

So solution is get a new Graphics card!....that can support DirectX9.0c and above? - any suggestions? - cheap ones! Thanks Roy

| Possibly the game is trying to run at a really high resolution that your monitor cant handle. Also maybe try changing the colour to 32bit if its set on 16, or vice versa. Also i dont think its the card/directx thing. DX will usually do a nice job of emulating things if the card isnt fully compliant, or the game will run at the minimum settings level. The game even says geforce 2 or higher in the specs. Try a different card if you have one. Try installing the patch below.
