Black tie means Tuxedo (or Dinner suit) for the blokes with a bow tie (often black but these days people ring the changes) for Girls it means POSH FROCK and get the family jewels out of the safe (if you haven't got real then there is plenty of good bling about..)

I think the frock you showed is fine for "black tie" , at a lot of these events people interpret it to mean "little black dress" but then you look the same as everyone else. So whenever i go to a black tie do I never wear black!

Hope thathelps

ps £35 for a dress is a bargain if you look good in it. last posh frock i was bought was about 5 times more expensive!

LOL, I was gonig to say exactly that!
whenever I go to Black Tie events, everyone (well, almost everyone) wears LBD
i like to wear red or something sparkly that will turn heads - i like to stand out in a crowd!

the fabric that you wear can make boring colours like green or dark blue look stunning under artificial lights and the camera man will be following you around all night

personnally, i think your picture is a little too white, maybe look for something darker my opinion only
