Have a google around and you can find a top spec aventura for £18,800 or £22k inclusive. I took that into a main dealer and they matched it. The aventura is the top spec model and has all the above. There was also a finance offer on the aventura, pay half the other half 0% over two years, the monies better off in my bank.

Try looking here. http://www.sonnauto.co.uk/search_Van_results.asp

I think the model you are referring to is the 'Die Hard 4.0' special edition. It was in the dealers around 4 months back, confusingly with a 2.5lt engine.

The L200 may look a bit more 'sissie' but mine doesn't complain with some of the heavy loads I give it. The fuel economy was an important choice for me. The one thing though is that the driving position is not as comfortable as the older version. I'm having really bad back pains now when I didn't use to have before - could be me being an old fart though :-)
Another thing I found is that it doesn't go around the bend as well as the older version, doesn't feel as tight.
Now I have some scratches and dents on the bodywork I give it more of a kick on offroad and so far behaving itself.

The problem with the L200 is that the designers really should have been allowed to use a straight edge when putting the designs together.

Just got rid of the Jeep and bought a 3.2 Shogan on an 06 plate.

Mega expensive at 24K but its got loads of toys and only had 9k miles on the clock and they gave me £1500 more for the Jeep than I was expecting so not too bad. The 7 seats have proved useful already but I wish they were split rather than a bench seat at the very back.

Despite not having the range of positions and lumber support on the seats its very comfortable but the engine is like a tractor at low revs and it feels like a real bus to drive. Its lovely once on the motorway.

The bad news? About 25 MPG with a 60/40 motorway to town split. No where near as good as the Jeep which avgd 29.

My old Jeep had a much bigger boot with the seats down was faster 0-60 and was MUCH easier to park. The new V6 diesel Jeep is stunning to drive rely smooth and quirt with tight handling and the acceleration 0-60 and 50-80 is epic. However the interior is crap and the boot is too small (even smaller than the Shogun) and its only got 5 seats.

Stick the Jeep Engine in my Shogun and give me a reversing camera and id be a happy bunny

I found that in the one I test drove, the seats didnt feel long enough and I had a back ache after only a couple miles..Thats why I got the old one instead!...That, and it was half the price!!

make your mind up

I love my 96 cherokee, loadsa room with seats up and down. shame bout the Mpg which works out at 13 Mpg but it is LPG so its 26Mpg cost wise.

the new commander or patriot look OK but not sure about the active 4WD on the newer jeeps yet, much prefer a big lever on the side of the footwell

The 2005 onward new shape Jeeps are too small (Lower roof, bigger wheel arches)

I had the 4.0 Cheorkee, very scary fuel consumption.

The Diesels are faster than the standard V8 petrols now, so better off with them. I loved my old Grand Cherokee CRD and i had no problems with the active 4WD. It just had too many other issues. Heating sensor packed up centrol locking failed, memory system (Part of CL) failed then it blew a very expensive prop shaft (one of four) so it had to go before it blew another one.

Id have got the new GC if the interior wasent so naff. Its a £30,000 with a £15000 interior.

RFL for all Double Cab's is £175 as it is for all commercial vans/pick up's. So forget about emissions as they have nothing to do with the RFL on this type of vehicle. As i said before, i sell all makes and models of commercial but drive the New Hilux 3.0D4D why ?. Well supplied 120 Navara last year and had 34 with clutch problems, 21 with wheel bearings breaking down and 2 blown engines. The 2.5 engine can't cope with the 170bhp while being worked hard or towing. UK Hilux also has a higher towing limit at 2800kg (Yes brochure says 2250kg but UK Models are supplied with a weight plate on the inside right wing with correct weights showing 2800kg limit). Climate control, sunroof - buy a car. Though 2nd quarter see the launch of Hilux 3.0d4d with climate, VSC, 18" alloys and bluetooth intergrated into the Sat Nav. Price - Hilux is a better buy with 10% discount available where your looking at around 6% - 7% on a Navara as there is only 9% margin in them. Running costs - Hilux 4.5 hours labour for 60K of running ! Navara 10.5 hours for 60k. Resale value - Navara holds around 28% of original value after 3years 60 k and Hilux is 39%.
