Here in Egypt we have big problems with harrassment on the mobile phone. I get so many missed calls which I never return and texts saying please call me both in Arabic and English. If ever I have called it is just some crazy guy in Cairo looking for a friend. If they do hear a European female voice then that's it. They never give up. I have one at the moment. I have tried a male friend swearing abuse at him in Arabic and English, but that didn't work. He calls all throughout the night giving me missed calls so I guessed he would be sleeping during the day so I kept ringing him in the morning because it took a while for him to answer and he sounded sleepy and I thought that would stop him. That didn't stop him.

Yesterday I was in the hairdressers so just answered the phone not realising who was calling. This time he spoke and said he wants to be my friend. I kept disconnecting the phone. (Actually most of them can't even speak English and just get a kick out of saying hello!) Then he sent me a text message with his email address asking me to contact him. His email address is really creepy. I have sent him a message saying if he calls my number again I will pass his number onto the police.

We shall see. Maybe there is a way to block some numbers calling you? My Nokia is about 50 years old!

As for the Who's online page, it automaticly update's, just leave it open

It will highlight a stalker if you already have a good idea of the user name.

On Dac. I had spotted what was happening, but it was good to get it confirmed. The user had used a name that was, to say the least, no supprise to me!!!

But then it does help if you are expecting it

Which is very sad...................

I was told you can tell if someone is using the invisible button, if you click on their name and bring their profile up then where Last activity bit should be......its empty/blank!

The phone network would be able to block this number or change your number if you can't block it on your phone? O2 were very helpful in my situation when I had a few problems in the UK a few years back.

Thats what invisable means Thats why its blank.

Hi Georgina,

Why not post his email on a few forums and let the bots get to work?

He will get so much spam hopefully after a while!

Thats not the answer IMHO, to many people appear to feed of that type of thing..........

Its strange, but these types will get bored eventually and move on to their next victim. Alas the time inbetween can be very disturbing for the current victim

This thread really has changed my views on anonymity on the internet. Also a PM I got , I always thought it was "Odd" people chose to hide their names.......Not something I think anymore

Its a sad state of affairs
