Question Car insurance for kids - Diamond Insurance

Just going through the process of renewing insurance on daughters astra-daughter is 18, and the main driver on the current policy.

Currently daughter is insured with Direct line. Last year, on the advice of the insurance company, we put the car in my name, put the policy in my name, and stated that daughter was the main driver. Policy comes through lower premium as expected -1 year of no claims. We ring ring up to renew and get told ah no , policy has to be in daughters name. That will be £950 not £680. Something to do with risk loading. The risk has not changed s we are bit puzzled on thsi one.

Been trawling the web at moneyspermarket.com and the best quote by far at £385 is a company called Diamond. Has anyone any experience of using them?

I've used Diamond in the past, had an accident that wasn't my fault, and the service received was brilliant. Cannot fault them!

Well their customer service people were excellent this afternoon. We made a booboo on filling out the info-no prob, quickly sorted, small change to the premium and daughter is covered once again.
