| So in Egypt they have this terrible habit of driving at night without their lights on and then just flashing the headlights when another vehicle is approaching. Last night I saw a local guy Ahmed who has a very old BMW750 motorbike which is black and he was driving in El Gouna at night wearing a black leather jacket and no helmet. I asked him why he hadn't switched his lights on. He said its fine he doesn't need them because he can see where he is going! I told him that others can't see him because he is all black and I could hear him as I walked along but could hardly see him and someone could pull out in front of him. He said he wasn't going very far so it doesn't matter. I asked him if accidents only happen on long journeys then. Not to mention all the sand and dust on the roads and then they water them to stop the sand blowing around which makes the roads like a skating rink. We then talked about smoking and he said it is fine his doctor told him one packet a day is OK. Don't you just love Egypt!

| Well its very quiet in Calais as the port is shut till 0500, so we are doing very little here at the moment. I can see the carpark outside though and there are some rather sad people sleeping in their cars waiting for the gates to open ![]()
