I'm just about to go for a two mile run. After which I shall join those of my fellow YDers who are imbibing...although I hope not to chuck a glass of red wine all over my light coloured carpet, like I did last night

Thank heaven for the bottle of stain-remover I got from the petshop. You wouldn't know I'd done it . Shocking waste of red wine though

Sounds nice! Shame you live 350 miles away!!!!

Today I went shopping for a cable for my new monitor. On the way home I passed an elderly couple clearly in distress. So I turned around and went to see if I could help. He looked like he was ready to collapse. He was, as it happens. Managed to get him into the car, took him to the OAP home he lived in and then tried to get the warden to help get him inside. She'd gone out!!! I found a wheelchair but couldn't get the damn thing to unfold.

So, with his arm around my shoulders, with me and my metal mickeys taking most of his weight, I managed to help him shuffle inside. He stopped at the entrance to gain his breath. After 15 mins we did the same thing along to his flat. His poor wife was shaking like no-ones business and kept saying "all we wanted was to go and visit friends"!!!! Eventually got him into bed cos that's where he asked to be taken! Then the ambulance crew turned up! Apparently one of the residents pushed her panic button when she saw us, out of concern, and because the warden was off duty/out it routes to ambulance control! Explained what happened to them and legged it!!!

Not the most exciting and pleasurable hour and a half, I've spent, and my car smells like old people now (and I mean that in a nice-ish way, so no offense meant!), but at least I saved the guy any humiliation/pain from falling and hurting himself.

That was my windy Saturday afternoon gone!!! Send some of that pudding stuff down this way!!! Sounds lish!

Nope, I do a little then get bored for a month, so its never finished. I have had a real run at it the last two or three weeks, and I almost have 3 rooms done now!

I've got a bit of cooking to do tomorrow, we have a few people over for new year and I plan a couple of home made curries :-) Boring I know, but Chicken Tikka Massalla, it has to marinate overnight and will have a kick to it, then some form of meaty Thai red curry with the appropriate rice,

Will take forever as always, but I quite enjoy it. Lots of Nelson to help it down the hatch of course.
